Eric R. Fischer

Director

Eric Fischer, who commenced his legal career in 1971, is a retired partner in Goodwin Procter’s Financial Institutions Group. He focused his practice on bank regulatory matters, including issues concerning bank corporate governance, director and officer liability, mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions, the bank regulatory process, banking operations and security matters, bank risk management and safety, soundness and examination matters, as well as financial institution formation and reorganization transactions.

Eric is a member of the Board of Directors of Boston Trust Walden N.A. and serves as Chair of its Fiduciary Audit Committee.

Eric is a recognized leader in his field, having previously served as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee’s Task Force on Bank Directors and Chair of the Banking and Financial Services Law Committee of the Boston Bar Association. During his years at Goodwin Procter, Eric was annually recognized in the Banking & Finance: Corporate & Regulatory category by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Eric earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a JD and MBA from Stanford University, and an LLM from Boston University School of Law.
