In her role as Director of Risk Management, Valerie is responsible for developing and managing the organization’s risk management, internal auditing, and compliance programs. Her responsibilities include providing valuable and influential risk insight and metrics to support the organization’s strategic objectives, governance, and operations. She is a member of the Trade Review Committee and various corporate working groups.
Valerie began her career in 2006 and joined Boston Trust Walden in 2024. Previously, she worked as a senior manager at Ernst & Young, and more recently led risk management efforts as the enterprise and operational risk lead at Putnam Investments. Valerie earned a dual MBA and MPP from the University of Maryland and a BS in Mathematics and Finance from Northeastern University. She holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation from The Institutes.
