Faith-Based Investors
Since the 1970s Boston Trust Walden has worked alongside faith-based investors to advance responsible and sustainable business practices.
We manage assets for a variety of faith-based investors and we collaborate with their investment consultants, finance staff, and advocacy teams. We implement custom environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria to ensure that clients’ investments are managed in a manner that is consistent with their beliefs. We also partner with clients to advocate for more responsible and sustainable business practices through shareholder engagement and proxy voting.
Boston Trust Walden has been working with the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility since the 1980s. We are active contributors and play a leadership role in the corporate political spending and lobbying group, human rights group, and several climate-related working groups. In 2016, Tim Smith, Boston Trust Walden’s Director of ESG Shareowner Engagement, received ICCR’s Legacy Award in recognition of his lifetime contributions to the field of sustainable and responsible investing. He was the first secular recipient of this award.
