Manager of Fixed Income Trading and Quantitative Research
Russell manages fixed income trading in support of the firm’s multi-asset portfolio management activity. He also manages the firm’s trading systems and platforms, model-delivery programs, and trading partners. In addition, he oversees the development of the firm’s quantitative tools and methodologies. Russell serves as chair of the Quantitative Tools & Methodologies (QTM) Committee and is a member of the Investment, Investment Policy, and Fixed Income Committees.
Russell began his career at Boston Trust Walden as an Assistant Trader in 2002. Since that time he has served in a variety of roles, including marketing analysis, securities research, and portfolio management. Russell was a key contributor in the development of various quantitative tools and methodologies central to the firm’s investment practice, and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer from 2017 to 2019. In this role, he provided oversight to internal operations, mutual fund administration, and IT functions. Russell earned a BS in Finance cum laude from Northeastern University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Russell is a member of the CFA Society Boston and the CFA Institute.
